Rabbit Rabbit

Barbara Kingsolver said

“People’s dreams are made out of what they do all day. The same way a dog that runs after rabbits will dream of rabbits.

It’s what you do that makes your soul, not the other way around.”

Dreaming of Rabbits in sweaters is more my style.

May your day be full of ease and comfort 💕✨MPC

Honoring the Crone

“As women, we can embody all aspects of the Triple Goddess simultaneously (Mother, Maiden, Crone) at every stage of our lives.
The elements of feminine mystique, giftedness, and strength are available to us through the spirit as much as the body.”
Elizabeth Eiler
I always like the question” how old would you be if you had no idea how old you are?”
Some days I feel like a child, others I embrace my creative motherhood and others I rest in my thoughts and sit with my years.
Today I honor the Crone and all her radiance, though not valued by society , I value her the most.
May you value each and every age you are.
May you never lose your wonder.

Red Thread

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.”
Chinese Proverb
Have you ever looked at a friend and was astonished by all the underpinnings that brought you together?
So blessed to be in the circles of friends I find myself in.
In these wonky times may you take a moment to bless your friends and stay connected from afar.

“Each contact with a human being is so rare, so precious, one should preserve it.”
Anais Nin
In a time where we are socially distancing it was nice to gather in a class with other humans.
Although online classes are wonderful it doesn’t replace the gathering in .
We are wired for connection.
I hope you are staying connected and growing.

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.” -An Ancient Chinese Belief.
Did you ever meet someone and just know that it was magical?
I have a group of women that we meant online while art journaling The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.
We try to meet up once a year. I had a road trip planned to meet 2 members of our group this April then Covid-19 hit and we were in lockdown. It saddens me because I will never meet one of our members Maggie. Maggie was the Matriarch of the group. A spry , wise woman , someone who thought for herself. She died in late July.
May she rest peacefully. This is the center page of an art journal that we all drew on. It has been all over the world.
We are all connected.
The bracelets were a gift from Maggie.
Be kind to one another.
We are all connected.

“But sometimes, unexpectedly, a quiet moment finds us and we drop down into
the life we have beneath all the rushing and the trying and the endless
daily details, sinking into the fertile soil of the sometimes neglected
inner life, where the seeds of remembering what matters are planted. What
comes from that place when we give it half a chance flowers in our lives and
the world, creating unexpected changes in the direction of our journey and
offering unanticipated blessings to us and those around us.”
~Oriah Mountain Dreamer
Slowing down and appreciating this very moment.
Quietly listening to the birdsong.
A cup of coffee in the garden.
I wish you a very gentle day.

In the ordinary

Remember that there is meaning beyond absurdity. Know that every deed counts, that every word is power…Above all, remember that you must build your life as if it were a work of art.
Abraham Joshua Heschel
Social Distancing and creating art with people I llove. The paintings that are a work in progress continue to bring me joy.
May you find snippets of joy in this very heavy world.
Look in the ordinary, I believe that is where you will find it.

The Why

“Most scientists believe that birds sing in the morning as a sign to their mates to indicate that they made it through the night and are still alive, able and willing. “
Jeff Goins
Maybe that is why we make art.
To say we are still here.
I hope you are doing well today.
Making art, while social distancing outside. 💕✨MP
