2022

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.
You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes.
Make glorious, amazing mistakes.
Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before.
Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.” – Neil Gaiman
wishing you a 2022 that is brimming with mistakes and JOY and LOVE.
Grateful to have survived , learned new coping skills and rediscovered my love of walking in 2021.
Still collecting words for 2022.
I choose a word instead of a resolution.
2022 ‘s word is FLOW.
I hope to get my flow back and to go with the flow.
Off to make mistakes.
Thank you all for being part of my journey. ❤️ MPC

Keeper of the Words 2021

Letting Compassion Lead the way!

It’s a perfect Buddhist time.

Your hopes have been dashed. Your cup has been overturned. Some of the aspects of your life have not gone the way you had hoped.

However, some of the stagnant energy has been cleared away.

It is time to regroup.

Everything is on schedule.

The outcome is not important. What is important is that those who gave their energy and time seized the moment.

Don’t have an attachment to the outcome.

Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do such as helping others, helping the earth.

~ Kuan Yin

Time to regroup.

Let go of 2021 , the year of highs and lows.

Get out of this rut.

Dig deep into compassion and forgiveness.

Onward!

In Gratitude

“There is no such thing as a simple act of compassion or an inconsequential act of service. Everything we do for another person has infinite consequences.”

— Caroline Myss

Thank you everyone who showed up for my art show, brought flowers understood when I cancelled plans to work on it.
Monday afternoon I take it down.
My heart is full.
May we be strong women, May we raise them.
Happy Women’ Equality Day.
We can do hard things.
This makes it all worth it.
I love Anjenlee’s interpretation.

Leaping!

“The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating.

The paths to it are not found but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination.”

~John Schaar

She is!!!

I paint or draw daily, it is my breath.

I think of my paintings as little prayers I whisper out in to the world.

This daily practice has changed the way I interact with people with nature and with myself.

I am forever grateful for this practice as it sustains and nurtures me.

I am taking a leap this August and displaying my work in a solo show.

August 5 th

5:30-7:30 I will have a reception at the Livonia Civic Library Gallery.

32777 5 Mile Road

Livonia, MI 48154

I would be delighted to share with you my art, a hug and some laughter.

Rabbit Rabbit

Barbara Kingsolver said

“People’s dreams are made out of what they do all day. The same way a dog that runs after rabbits will dream of rabbits.

It’s what you do that makes your soul, not the other way around.”

Dreaming of Rabbits in sweaters is more my style.

May your day be full of ease and comfort 💕✨MPC

Honoring the Crone

“As women, we can embody all aspects of the Triple Goddess simultaneously (Mother, Maiden, Crone) at every stage of our lives.
The elements of feminine mystique, giftedness, and strength are available to us through the spirit as much as the body.”
Elizabeth Eiler
I always like the question” how old would you be if you had no idea how old you are?”
Some days I feel like a child, others I embrace my creative motherhood and others I rest in my thoughts and sit with my years.
Today I honor the Crone and all her radiance, though not valued by society , I value her the most.
May you value each and every age you are.
May you never lose your wonder.

Red Thread

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.”
Chinese Proverb
Have you ever looked at a friend and was astonished by all the underpinnings that brought you together?
So blessed to be in the circles of friends I find myself in.
In these wonky times may you take a moment to bless your friends and stay connected from afar.

Connected

“Each contact with a human being is so rare, so precious, one should preserve it.”
Anais Nin
In a time where we are socially distancing it was nice to gather in a class with other humans.
Although online classes are wonderful it doesn’t replace the gathering in .
We are wired for connection.
I hope you are staying connected and growing.

Maggie

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.” -An Ancient Chinese Belief.
Did you ever meet someone and just know that it was magical?
I have a group of women that we meant online while art journaling The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.
We try to meet up once a year. I had a road trip planned to meet 2 members of our group this April then Covid-19 hit and we were in lockdown. It saddens me because I will never meet one of our members Maggie. Maggie was the Matriarch of the group. A spry , wise woman , someone who thought for herself. She died in late July.
May she rest peacefully. This is the center page of an art journal that we all drew on. It has been all over the world.
We are all connected.
The bracelets were a gift from Maggie.
Be kind to one another.
We are all connected.
